Intro

Why was this built?

DARC-SPICE was built as part of the Open Web Fellowship on Science Token Communities at Opscientia to model science value flows.

What problems does this solve?

Designing token ecosystems is fundamentally an engineering problem. As such, one of the key design stages is verification. DARC-SPICE is specifically tailored for verifying science token communities, offering a range of agents representing stakeholders in a science ecosystem along with a number of predefined simulations that you can test out-of-the-box.

Why is this important?

With the increasing concerns about the validity of the current science ecosystem, it is important that we have the right tools to model the status quo science system and its alternatives with varying levels of resolution.

What is the future of this project?

In its current form, DARC-SPICE comes with a number of completed models of various science communities and their respective agents, however, it is still highly dependent on TokenSPICE and contains many parts of the Ocean Protocol simulations. Future development will tend towards making DARC-SPICE a more science oriented simulator, which includes adding new functionality for advanced meta-science research with reinforcement learning.
